10/28 Boston local meeting
The Socialist Party of Boston will meet this Sunday, 28 October, at noon in the Lucy Parsons Center. Coming off of the 27 October regional demonstration on the Common, we'll take stock of progress in October and prepare for further work in November. We'll also hear a report-back from our National Convention in St. Louis (19-21 October) and learn about new initiatives coming out of it.
The Lucy Parsons Center is located at 549 Columbus Ave. in the South End, near the Mass Ave. T stop on the Orange Line, the Symphony T stop on the Green Line (E), and the #1 bus line. For more information, visit www.lucyparsons.org.
As announced above, the Socialist Party nominated Brian Moore of Florida for president and Stewart Alexander of California for vice-president at our recent National Convention in St. Louis. We'll hear about what else went on at the convention, and begin planning for ballot access and campaign events in Boston, Massachusetts, and New England in general.
We'll also be meeting just after several antiwar actions on 26-27 October, and will consider how those played out, what more we can do to help, and the prospects for the future course of the antiwar movement. As always, we have new members and other organization maintenance to take care of as well. For more information, check out the preliminary agenda.
Minutes from our previous local meeting can be found here.
