9/30 Boston local meeting
The Socialist Party of Boston will meet this Sunday, 30 September, at noon in the Lucy Parsons Center. October will be a busy month for us, the antiwar movement, and other struggles. We'll take stock of what all happened in September and get ready for the next round.
The Lucy Parsons Center is located at 549 Columbus Ave. in the South End, near the Mass Ave. T stop on the Orange Line, the Symphony T stop on the Green Line (E), and the #1 bus line. For more information, visit www.lucyparsons.org
Items on the agenda for this Sunday include Rosie Jimenez Day (3 October), an organizer training session on 6 October, and, of course, the antiwar actions on 26-27 October. Our National Convention in St. Louis will take place during 19-21 October, which will nominate our presidential ticket (as well as updating our platform and constitution, electing national leadership, and considering various motions and resolutions). We need to prepare for the convention itself, as well as what comes afterward: the 2008 election cycle. We also have a new bulletin coming out, new members, socialists running in elections, and various organizational tasks. For more information, check out the preliminary agenda.
Minutes from our previous local meeting and last week's New England Regional Meeting in Hartford, CT can be found here and here, respectively.
